Chief Denney Kelley began working at Black Butte Ranch on July 15, 2009 after a 30-year career in Law Enforcement.Chief Kelley came to Black Butte Ranch from the Portland Police Bureau where he held assignments in Patrol, Detectives, SERT (SWAT), Air Support and Criminal Intelligence.
Chief Kelley also played on the Portland Police Badgers Soccer team for 20 years. The Chief's wife, Michele, is a nurse with over 30 year's experience, including eight years as a Life Flight nurse.
Their family includes four adult children, and two in high school.

Sgt. Schulz was hired in June of 2011 out of a field of sixteen candidates. Sgt. Schulz brings with him thirteen years of experience at the Cannon Beach Police Department where he attained the rank of Lieutenant. His assignments included Patrol and Investigations and working as Volunteer Firefighter/EMT with the Cannon Beach Fire Department. He currently volunteers as an EMT/Wildland Firefighter with Sisters-Camp Sherman Fire Department. He enloys hunting, cooking , camping and is just recently married.

Sgt.Klejmont was hired in October of 2010 as a part-time employee after the departure of Sgt. Dave Hall. Sgt. Klejmont served as the only first-line supervisor until Sergeant Schulz was hired.
Sgt. Klejmont has extensive experience in Law Enforcement including 25 years with the Portland Police Bureau, 1 year with New York City Police Department, three years as Director of Security for the Portland Public Schools and as an Investigator for the Oregon Medical Board. His past assignments include Mounted Patrol, Drugs and Vice, Gang Enforcement, Detectives and attained the rank of Lieutenant.

Officer Les Brush has been with the Black Butte Police Department for
the past 18 years.
He dedicated 8 years to the Marine Corps where he was Sergeant and a helicopter mechanic.
He joined the Search & Rescue team in Columbia County, Oregon where he was a Search Team Leader and an Emergency Medical Technician.
Les attended Portland Community College as a Psychology major.
After being recruited by the Columbia County Sherriff’s Office and attending the Police Academy the then Deputy Brush spent the next couple of years as a Marine Law Enforcement Officer.
He moved to Sisters and joined the Black Butte Police Department. Officer Brush was awarded a “Life Saving Metal” for saving the life of a heart attack victim. When he is off duty, Les loves to spend time fishing, hunting and camping. Les currently resides in Florence with his wife, Linda.

Officer Lettenmaier moved to Bend in 2000 and shortly thereafter
applied to be a Reserve Officer with the Bend Police Department.
He graduated form the Oregon Police Academy in 2001. He joined the Bend Police Department in 2001. In 2002, Kelvin joined the Black Butte Ranch Police Department.
When Kelvin is not on duty, he enjoys hunting, camping & golfing.
